An impressive performance took place in Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University on February 14th. Students of university invited everyone who wanted to join a large-scale flashmob, showing their love for the Ukrainian song on St. Valentine’s Day.

When it comes to increasing the use of the Ukrainian language in society, there were a few more reasons for a positive than a negative review in 2017. Progress is taking place, but at a glacial  pace — the full implementation of the constitutional provision that the “State ensures the comprehensive development and functioning of the Ukrainian language in all spheres of social life throughout Ukraine” is still very far away.

President Petro Poroshenko reminded that 2018 will mark a century since the launch of deep democratic changes not only in Ukraine, but also in Europe. In 1918, as result of downfall of empires, dozens of nations restored or regained their independence. They were the nations of Central Europe, Baltic and Balkan regions. They also were the nations that had been under the rule of the czarist Russia. It was stated by the President in a meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions of foreign states and international organizations accredited in Ukraine.
